Weekly Unlock Digest: Nov 2-8, 2026 | KITE’s First Cliff Lands as Markets Absorb the Binance Breach

🔑 Key Takeaways
- BTC closed the week down about 2% near $78,000 as the Binance breach weighed on risk appetite, days after a Fed hold with two dissents for a hike, while HYPE gained 15%.
- KITE's $75.5M Founder/Team and Private Investors cliff equals 26.76% of circulating supply, the first insider release since its November 2025 TGE.
- Predict.fun will unlock 16% of PREDICT supply at its delayed TGE, with core contributor and early backer allocations behind a 24-month cliff.
- Zcash and NEAR are both weighing proposals that would slow new supply entering circulation.
Weekly Recap
The crypto market extended its October decline. BTC closed the week near $78,000, down about 2%, after touching a six-week low of about $76,300. The week's defining event was the breach of Binance wallets late on October 29 (UTC), which Binance later estimated at roughly $6.3B, the largest crypto hack on record. BTC fell to its six-week low in the aftermath, and more than $1B in long positions were liquidated. Binance said it would bear the losses itself and had replaced about 95% of the affected assets by November 1. About $3B of the stolen funds was frozen, largely in stablecoins, and withdrawals began reopening in phases on November 1, starting with bitcoin, ether, major stablecoins, BNB and XRP.
On the macro side, the Federal Reserve held rates at 3.75–4.00% on October 28 in a 10–2 vote, with both dissenters favoring a hike. Some analysts read the hold as hawkish because of the dissents, while others read Chair Kevin Warsh's remarks as leaning into patience.
Top Buybacks of the Week
The top five buyback programs repurchased about $16.47M of tokens from October 26 to November 1, with Hyperliquid accounting for roughly 65% of that total.

LIT ranked third this week. Lighter funds open-market LIT purchases from trading fee revenue and, since a mid-2026 tokenomics update, sends repurchased tokens to a burn address. Its second burn, 2,452,017 LIT on October 9, followed 15,638,702 LIT burned in July.
Upcoming Events
Next week’s scheduled cliff unlocks total about $285 Million in value. Dollar figures are marked at November 1, 2026, and HYPE is counted at the amount Hyperliquid's team has committed to claim. Top tokens facing the largest cliff unlocks next week include $BTW, $KITE, $MMT, $ENA, and $HYPE.

Unlock Spotlight: $KITE
- Unlock date: November 3, 2026
- Unlock amount: $75.5M
- Unlock as % of circulating supply: 26.76%
- Vested allocation: Founder/Team, Private Investors
Kite is an AI-focused Layer 1 built for payments between autonomous agents, with its mainnet live since April 30, 2026. This release ends the 12-month cliff on team and investor allocations that began at KITE's November 2025 TGE, so it is the first time insider tokens enter circulation. Of KITE's 10B max supply, 20% is allocated to the team, advisors and early contributors and 12% to investors, with remaining allocations set to vest gradually after this cliff.

At 26.76% of circulating supply, the unlock expands tradable float materially in a single tranche. It could introduce selling pressure if recipients realize gains, particularly while market liquidity remains thin after the Binance incident. On the other side, Kite's docs say the protocol collects a small commission from each AI service transaction and can swap it for KITE on the open market before distributing it to modules and the Kite L1, tying part of token demand to network usage. How much of the new supply that demand can absorb will depend on agent payment activity on mainnet.
New TGEs on the Radar

Notable Tokenomics Updates
Zcash: Draft proposal to end ZCG's 8% block-subsidy stream
On October 26–27, Zcash co-founder Sean Bowe published a draft Zcash Improvement Proposal (ZIP). It would end Zcash Community Grants' (ZCG) automatic 8% share of the block subsidy and redirect it to the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM) for the rest of the stream's term. Under current parameters, that is about 52,560 ZEC a year withheld from immediate circulation.
Bowe argues ZCG's treasury, which he puts at about $125M at an assumed ZEC price of $1,300, is enough to keep funding grants. The draft leaves ZCG's existing funds, the miner subsidy, the separate 12% coinholder-controlled fund and ZEC's supply cap unchanged. Some developers have objected that it could reduce funding for network development.
It's time to turn off the ZCG funding stream.

ZCG has over $125M in funding, and will receive millions more before the spigot is turned off. The program was never designed to handle this amount of funding.

NEAR: HSP-029 issuance cut vote closes November 2
House of Stake proposal HSP-029 would lower NEAR's maximum annual issuance from 2.5% to 1.6%. The cut would begin after a 90-day grace period and phase in over 24 months, keeping the existing 90/10 split of new tokens between stakers and the treasury.
The proposal models gross staking yield falling from 5.268% at the current 2.5% cap to 3.372% at 1.6%. That trades lower dilution for non-staking holders against lower rewards for stakers. Voting closes November 2 at 16:48 UTC, and even if approved, validators must adopt a separate protocol upgrade before the change takes effect. NEAR previously halved its issuance cap from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025.
